Introduction to Tagging

Tagging and tag search are powerful analysis features within your Project Viewing Portal. You can add tags to your submissions as you go along - up to 8 tags per submission. You can then count your tags to see how often they are appearing, search for all submissions that you've tagged with certain tags and view or export them, or download your project and use the tags for analysis that you do outside of the Project Viewing Portal.

We've designed the tagging feature to be as flexible as possible. Here are a handful of ways that you may want to use tagging in your Project Viewing Portal:

  1. You can tag submissions with key "theme" words or themes that you suspect will be important to your project and your analysis. So, if you see a submission that deals with "pleasant fragrance," you could add "pleasant fragrance" as a tag to the first submission where it comes up.
  2. You can tag submissions by occasion by adding "breakfast" to all relevant submissions.
  3. Where people are using brands, you can add that brand as a tag so that you can refer to it later and compare it to other brands that appear in other submissions.
  4. You can use tags to categorize or "code" submissions for later analysis.
  5. You can use tags to assess a "quality" assessment to submissions. For example, you might decide that great submissions that you know you'll use in your report get a "!!!" tag, and good ones get a "!!" tag so that you can filter your tags by quality later. Remember, you're able to search your submissions by their tags, or even combinations of their tags.
