When you click on an audio, photo or video, it will expand into the PVP's "Lightbox." The "Lightbox" is a pop-up window full of information and data analysis tools. Not only can you view media submissions, but you can also view participant info, add notes and comments, tag, and transcribe.
When you click on an audio, photo or video, it will expand out into a "lightbox" like the one below so that you can see the full-size media asset, and use some powerful analysis tool. Here is a tour of all the functionality in the lightbox.
- The video controls in the Project Viewing Portal are standard, so just click "play" to play an audio or video, and pause to stop it. You can also point and drag to find the exact spot in the video you're looking for.
- You can control the volume of each video by clicking the volume button.
- You can also see the length of the video in this section.
- You can view other participant responses in the lightbox by using the "Next" or "Previous" buttons.
- The lightbox includes a Participant Notes section where you can add comments or notes specific to the participant. These comments will appear with the participant on all of his/her responses.
- This section provides the specific question that was asked in this assignment.
- You can move through the questions sent within this assignment from the lightbox by using the "Previous" or "Next" buttons.
- Your lightbox includes a "Tags" section so that you can add tags to the submission you're viewing. You can add up to 8 tags for each submission.
- Adding a tag is easy... just click in the box and start typing. If you're adding a tag that hasn't been used before, just type it in, and hit "Return" on your keyboard, and it will appear in your tag library. The Project Viewing Portal will try to predict which tags you are using as you type in each letter. To get rid of a tag, just click the "x" on the right-hand side of the tag and it will be removed. You'll find more information on how to add a tag here.
- This section is a library of all the tags used in this project. You can also click on a tag from the list of tags in the library to add it to the submission you are viewing. Any tags that have been previously used in this project will appear in the tag library. You can also sort the tags in this section by using the "Sort tags" dropdown list.
- If it's an audio or video, there will be a transcription/translation box. If you've chosen to add transcription or translation to your project, the results will appear here. If you have not chosen to add transcription or translation to your project, the box will be blank. Transcription/translation boxes are always "locked" so that Viewing Portal users cannot make changes to existing transcripts or translations by accident.
- In this section, you can add information /comments relevant to the answer/media. You can also highlight important information in this text box.
- While viewing a response within the lightbox, you can immediately set up a follow-up question by using the "Ask a follow-up question" hyperlink. This link will direct you to the page within the CMS to set up a question, click here for a step-by-step guide on setting up a question. The question will already be programmed to send to this individual participant, in Step 5.
